Cruising to Mexico

Recently I took a trip to Costa Maya, Mexico and Cozumel, Mexico. I went on the Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas cruise ship. Most of my days I hung out by the pool or went to the beach, when we got to our port. The first two days when we got on the ship was just sailing.

The first day when we got on, I mostly explored around the ship and then I went to the pool to watch our departure. On our second day, we were closer to Costa Maya which was our first stop. When I woke up I got ready and went to the Windjammer Cafe for breakfast, which is a buffett. After that, I hung out by the pool most of the day, and I went to the deck of the ship where they had lounge chairs and there was a nice breeze. Later into the night, I got ready for dinner and went to the dining hall. The dinner was overall good, as it was for the rest of the nights.

On our third day we docked at Costa Maya, Mexico. We took a taxi to our private beach that we were going to. We went to a beach resort, ‘Maya Chan.’ When we got there we got shown around to where everything was. There was massage tables, a tree house, and lounge chair right in front of the water. There was also chair floats out in the water, which you could also paddleboard, kayak, and snorkel. When I was there lounging, people would come around and see if you wanted anything to drink, as well if you were out in the water they would come on a paddleboard and ask the same. Then we ate lunch there and just hung out, overall it was a very good day. On that night we departed to go to Cozumel, Mexico.

Another nice day in the Caribbean

On the fourth day, we got off the ship at Cozumel and took a taxi to a dolphin park. When we arrived, we checked in and started to get ready to swim with the dolphins. When we got into the area, we started off with petting and playing with the dolphins. Then the dolphins came to us individually, they put their fins out so we could ‘dance’ with them, then they rested their head into our hands and then gave us a kiss. After that, we went with two different dolphins. I had to lay on my stomach in the water with my feet pointing down, two dolphins came into the arches of my feet and lifted me up so I was standing on them. Then, I had to stand in the water and two dolphins came, I grabbed their fins and rode with them, which was fun. When we were done with that, we left and explored around Cozumel a bit and went to the shops. For our last night we went to dinner and a show. We had dinner at the dining hall then went to the showroom to watch the play Grease.

For the fifth and last day we had to pack all our things up, and go back to the cold weather. Overall, the trip was fun, warm, and I would do it again!
