The Iron Fist (also known as Danny Rand) is the infamous martial arts based Marvel superhero; he is known for his immensely powerful fist that could break through anything that gets in its way. The story behind Danny getting his supernatural powers is one wild story that includes a plane crash, being raised by monks, and killing a dragon. The first episode of The Iron Fist starts off with Danny Rand walking on the streets without shoes looking homeless. Danny tries to go back to his father's company expecting to receive a warm welcome back into his life but instead it's quite the opposite. No one believed Danny Rand has come back from the dead and even though as hard as he tried to prove it to the Meachums all they did was ignore him and eventually put him in the nut house. While roaming the streets of NY, Danny stumbles upon a woman named Colleen who runs a dojo, he constantly receives help from her when trying to regain his identity and also in many other different ways, she also soon becomes very close with Danny.

Iron Fist had many good qualities as a TV show. The acting was spectacular and the graphics were so beautiful and incredible. Some of the characters were portrayed really well that it will leave you falling in love with them instantly. What I really found spectacular was the fact how big of a plot twist it brings. I'm not gonna spoil anything but someone who—and I would suspect everyone else wouldn't— I didn't suspect at all being apart of The Hand.

A lot of critics have said Iron Fist is no good and I have to say I agree with them. I'm sure the directors took a lot of time trying to figure out what to do but it seemed they didn't take long enough because the show was very lacking. Just the most of episodes is just Danny trying to convince everyone that he is in fact Danny Rand. It never really truly gets to the actual problem till about already half in the series. Also the irrational, anger issues, Danny Rand is nothing like the calm and thought out, raised by monks everyone knows him as. He sometimes goes out of control for no reason, it's like he was never

raised to control his feelings. Everything just explodes out of him. Talking about being raised by monks, we barely even see the struggles he's been through we just about 2 flashbacks. One was him being beaten by the monks with sticks and another one was when he just got out of the cave after defeating the dragon and receiving his powers. Constantly throughout the whole show only one flashback—his plane accident— repeats throughout the whole show. It basically shows nothing else. This brings me back how the show was really rushed and most things weren't plotted it as well as it should have. If they have took the time to include more flashbacks about how the monks have raised Danny and showed his struggles that shaped him, I would guarantee the show would've turned out way better than it did.

Even before the show even aired there was some controversy between the casts of Danny Rand. Most of the fans wanted Iron Fist to have an Asian as the lead role of Danny Rand. To most people this made a lot of sense to have an Asian being portrayed as Danny Rand since the character was a Kung Fu fighting monk, it would seem that it would most easily be imagined that he would be Asian since the character would be tapping into their Asian culture. But of course as we all know that never happened and the actor that was cast was Caucasian. Even though this was originally planned in the comics, this stirred up some major issues which is probably why people watched the show with one foot out the door, ready to criticize anything and everything.
