"Get Out": A Movie Review

About 2 weeks I saw the movie, Get Out, I read some reviews before I saw this movie and what I found really interesting was that Jordan Peele directed this movie. Jordan Peele also starred in the hit Comedy Central tv show Key & Peele. It was different watching a horror movie directing by someone who generally has been in comedy is whole life.

Jordan Peele director of Get Out.

The movie opens with a young guy walking down the street and he’s on the phone, talking about how he always gets lost because all the streets are so similar. As he says this a car passes him and turns around and begins to slowly follow him. The young guy can tell something's not right, he turns around and the next thing that happens is something you have to see for yourself.

It cuts off to the next scene which is Chris (Daniel Kaluya),the main protagonist, with his girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams), packing a bag for the weekend. Come to find out Chris is meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time. Chris brings up the idea that her parents don’t know he’s African American and Rose blows it off, simplify saying her father would've voted for Obama a third time.

Get Out is a very unpredictable thrill rollercoaster filled with surprises. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you won’t regret seeing this. I really recommend this movie, I really enjoy horror movies but this one actually has some comedic relief, which I absolutely love in movies. The director did an amazing job with this movie. Don’t miss out, head to a theater near you and check this movie out!
